The first day of March may have foreshadowed how the rest of the 2015 Phillies' season will go. Sunday, March 1st, the Philadelphia Phillies played their annual game against the University of Tampa. The game resulted in a 6-2 defeat by the college athletes where the Phillies managed to score their only two runs in the second inning of the game. The lack luster offense of the Phillies could be blamed on using only bench players and minor league players, but they have been known to struggle with batting over the past years (Allowed a no-hitter in 2014 to Josh Beckett). Their bullpen looked strong and weak at the same time. Phillipe Aumont, and Paul Clemens were throwing up in the middle to high 90 MPH pitches, but the pitchers missed their spots when it counted the most allowing runs on a 3-2 count and giving up walks at inopportune times. Rustiness probably should be accounted for, but nevertheless this performance is not acceptable for a pro team to be beaten by a collegiate team. The Phillies open today to take on the New York Yankees in the Grapefruit League at 1:05 PM.

Take a moment to predict how many wins the Phillies will hold in the 2015 season in the poll to the right.
